Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest (COI) in book publication arises when a party involved in the process, such as an author, reviewer, or editor, has financial, personal, or professional relationships that could inappropriately influence or bias their professional judgment. The primary goal of managing COIs is to maintain the integrity and credibility of the published work and the publisher.

For authors

Declare everything: Authors must disclose all financial and non-financial relationships that could be perceived as biasing their work, often at the time of manuscript submission.

Use a disclosure statement: A specific "Conflict of Interest Statement" should be included in the book's front matter or acknowledgments.

Consult with co-authors: It is the corresponding author's responsibility to ensure that all co-authors are aware of and have disclosed any potential conflicts.

A declaration of conflict of interest is mandatory for all chapters. If there is no conflict of interest, the authors should include the following statement:

“The authors declare no potential conflicts of interest concerning research, authorship, and/or publication of this chapter".
